Sharps Removal & Needle Sweeps

Needles, syringes, and blades are always referred to as sharps. They can be found in waste bins, public toilets and particularly vacant premises taken over as squats run by drug users. Sharps pose a high infection risk if they puncture exposed skin as wounds allow highly infectious blood borne pathogens including Hepatitis B and HIV to be passed to the individual. The safe and controlled removal of needles, syringes and other sharp objects is extremely important as this type of waste will carry harmful diseases and if not removed and disposed could cause serious infections.

So Fresh & So Clean operate specialist teams in the removal of all sharps often working in difficult and testing environments. Our sweeps are undertaken methodically to ensure every square / cubic meter is thoroughly checked. We are experienced in managing large open areas or small confined areas and each situation is fully evaluated to ensure we hand back to our clients a sharps free area. On completion of the sweep we will decontaminate the affected area fully to ensure bio – hazardous contamination is controlled and removed safely.
