Carpet Cleaning FAQ

Q: Can you give me a quotation over the phone?
A: Yes there is no need for us to visit your home. Commercial property may require a site visit.

Q: What is the estimated drying time?
A: The cleaning will leave your carpets or upholstery slightly damp and they will dry naturally within a couple of hours in a well ventilated area.

Q: How quickly can I get my carpet or upholstery cleaned?
A: We will try to get you an appointment within 24hrs of contacting us.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes we have public liability cover.

Q: How many times a year should I have my carpets cleaned?
A: Carpet cleaning frequency depends on a number of things such as the number of occupants in the household, pets, smokers and children. On average you should clean your carpets every 12 months.

Q: Can you remove wine, tea, coffee etc…
A: Some stains can be permanent and therefore we can’t make any promises that we can remove them. We usually get better results if we attempt to remove the stain before anyone else tries.

Q: Can pet odours and urine be removed?
A: The deodoriser in our cleaning solution will deal with most pet odours. We use professional spotters specificity designed for the removal of urine.

Q: Can steam cleaning damage my carpet?
A: No. Hot water extraction is considered to be the best method for removing embedded soil and other contaminants. It is also the preferred carpet cleaning method by the leading carpet manufacturers.

Q: What should I do about the furniture in the room?
A. Our carpet cleaning technician will happily move any furniture that does not require more than one person. We would also kindly ask that you remove small objects and breakables before the cleaner arrives.

Q. Will my carpet shrink?
A. Some carpets may be prone to shrinkage. However, we have many years’ experience and can spot the fibres within a carpet which may cause this.  We can then take preventative measures, so you don’t need to worry.
If necessary, we may refuse a job and there will be no charge for our assessment or any call out charge.

Q. I have heard that carpets get dirty quicker once they have been cleaned. Is this true?
A. This only happens if there is too much residue left within the carpet. Rest assured that we use the correct cleaning system and application methods for each carpet, which means that they stay clean for longer.

Q. How long will it take you to clean my carpets?
A. We can give you some estimates, but it will vary, depending on the degree of soiling and stains:
Approximately one and a half hours for a three-bedroom house.
About an hour for a hall, stairs, landing and a lounge
About an hour for a three-piece suite
As we use the latest technology, our turnaround times are fast, ensuring that you can use your office or your home as quickly as possible.

Q. Do you charge extra for parking?
A. It will depend on the area and on the size and complexity of the job. We’ll let you know as soon as possible, not least because some areas have expensive parking charges.

Q. Do I have to hoover before you arrive?
A. We’d recommend that you give your carpets a quick vacuum the day before, especially if there is a lot of dust, fluff or larger particles on your carpets, as this may block the filters in our machines.
